1. Ten under-graduate and graduate students of the Republic of Korea will attend the ROK-Japan-China Trilateral Youth Summit 2016 in Japan from August 22 to 26.

2. “The Trilateral Youth Summit,” which the ROK Foreign Ministry proposed holding at the ROK-Japan-China Foreign Ministers’ meeting in 2015, is hosted by the three countries on an annual and rotational basis. This year’s round will be held in Japan.

3. During the five-day event, the under-graduate and graduate students from the three countries will engage in a discussion on “community development addressing declining birthrate and aging population” and visit relevant facilities. They will then present policy recommendations based on the outcome of those activities at the main session of the Trilateral Youth Summit on August 25.

4. Since 2013, the ROK Foreign Ministry has been holding various events for under-graduate and graduate students of the three countries, including the Foreign Ministry visit program, the “diplomatic camp” and the “essay contest on the trilateral cooperation,” as part of efforts to build an “ROK-Japan-China trilateral youth network.” Going forward, the Ministry will continue efforts to build a network and promote exchanges among the youths of the three countries.
