1. At the invitation of Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jong Kun, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State and Special Representative for North Korea Stephen Biegun will visit Korea from December 8 to 11 and hold Korea-U.S. high-level consultations.

On December 11, Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha will invite Deputy Secretary Stephen Biegun and the U.S. delegation to dinner and appreciate U.S. efforts in advancing Korea-U.S. relations and making progress in the Korean Peninsula peace process, while asking for continued attention and support from the U.S.
3. On December 9, Vice Minister Choi will meet with Deputy Secretary and Special Representative for North Korea Biegun and discuss issues of mutual interest, including the overall Korea-U.S. relations and regional and global affairs.

Following the vice ministerial meeting, Amb. Lee Do-hoon, Special
Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, will hold a
meeting with Deputy Secretary and Special Representative for North Korea
Biegun and discuss ways for the two countries to work together to make
substantive progress in achieving complete denuclearization and establishing
permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula.
